INDONAL MAN:
The packaging contains 120 capsules.
INDONAL MAN contains Indole-3-carbinol, a substance found in cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, kale, cabbage, cauliflower. The extract of the fruit of the saw palmetto maintains healthy testosterone metabolism and has a favourable effect on prostate and genitourinary tract function.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also called prostate enlargement, is a benign disease associated with a number of symptoms affecting approximately 50% of men aged 50 years or older and up to 75% of men aged 80 years and older. The most frequent symptoms include urinary urgency and intermittency, weak urine stream, sensation of incomplete bladder emptying, frequent and urgent urination during the day, and nocturia. BPH is caused by an overgrowth of prostate cells leading to urethral compression and urinal difficulties, which may result in serious complications, such as reduced renal function and urinary tract infections.
Saw palmetto extracts are among the most widely used plant extracts in the symptomatic treatment of urinary disorders (dysuria, pollakiuria, nocturia, urinary retention) caused by BPH. Research shows a number of mechanisms of action, including anti-androgenic and anti-oestrogenic actions, and growth factor inhibition. The most probable one is the antiandrogenic effect that inhibits the 5-α-reductase enzyme, which catalyses the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is an intracellular androgen responsible for prostate growth regulation. Inhibitors of this enzyme induce apoptosis (death) in prostate epithelial cells, leading to a reduction in prostate volume.*2
Indole-3-carbinol is used for the prevention of tissue proliferation and prostate cancer. Among the effects reported, anti-oestrogen activity has been prevalent, it directly binds to oestrogen receptors and acts as an antagonist. In regard to prostate cancer, in vitro studies showed indole-3-carbinol inducing cancer cell death and its active metabolite diindolylmethane significantly suppressing the proliferation of prostate cancer cells (PC-3).*1 The results of another study showed that I3C inhibited prostate and colon cell growth. Scientific laboratory data showed that I3C and DIM inhibited PC3 prostate cancer cell growth. *3 DIM is an I3C metabolite generated by its breakdown in the acidic environment of the stomach.
